TRACKS

A Note on Tracks or Options for Graduate Students

All students in the program take a core of courses that include language study, linguistics, literary study, and culture. Those who wish to pursue advanced study in related disciplines will be allowed to supplement their core program. The Russian and East European Studies track is a multidisciplinary program designed for this purpose. For example, many students who want an advanced degree with an area studies emphasis choose to take graduate courses in political science and history. Students may also take advanced business courses. Students choose courses outside the department in consultation with the graduate advisor who helps to design degree programs to meet students' interests and career goals.

The department's REES option is listed in the official graduate catalog.

All students are encouraged to study in St. Petersburg and Moscow in the Arizona Russian Abroad program.
