In 1989, Scott Semet received a BA in Russian & Slavic Languages and a BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology with honors from the University of Arizona. After a summer study program in the USSR, led by the indomitable Del Phillips, he received an MA in Soviet & East European Studies from Yale University and later an MBA from Columbia University.

These outstanding experiences at the University of Arizona, particularly immersion in the Russian language and culture as well as exposure to the USSR, from which all post-Soviet countries sprung, served as excellent preparation for an 18-year career in Moscow, culminating in positions as MD/Head of Research at major Russian investment banks/broker-dealers.

Since 2016, Scott has led his South Florida based firm, Arctic Clipper Advisors, which focuses on opportunities in the former Soviet Union.
