Dr. John Leafgren received his Ph.D. in Slavic Linguistics from the University of Virginia in 1992. His research is in the area of contemporary Bulgarian syntax and information structure. His publications include the monograph Degrees of Explicitness: Information Structure and the Packaging of Bulgarian Subjects and Objects, 2002 (John Benjamins). Dr. Leafgren teaches primarily courses in Russian linguistics (e.g. Russian phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, and history of the Russian language).
